About
The Lake Mountain Bicycle Club (LMBC) was founded in 2020 in Eagle Mountain, UT. We wanted to create an organized structure and supportive environment for people to learn, progress, and enjoy riding bikes together. This includes helping the smallest of kids start biking, to supporting more advanced youth athletes who are wanting to compete at higher levels. It also includes developing adult riders who want to support our youth programs through riding, volunteering, or coaching. Our goal is to build a club that is considered one of the premiere community bike clubs in the country, and a model for others.
The mission of LMBC is to develop individuals, in group/team settings, into life-long advocates, participants, and supporters of biking through skill building, training, education, friendships, and events.
We believe that in riding together and working hard to improve our skills/abilities, we can create real, positive change in the lives of all involved, with both riders and coaches. It creates bonds with each other, creates a love for the outdoors, a sense of responsibility and stewardship for our earth and our health, and teaches us that we can do hard things and obtain joy from doing them. In the end, this is about becoming.
We are an inclusive club and do not discriminate on the basis of any race, religion, age, gender, culture, or other criteria. All are welcome to participate.
We provide opportunities for:
1. Education & Information
We work to provide education to the public and to individuals about bike safety, bike trails, bike laws, and trail stewardship & etiquette
2. Service
We get people involved in improving our communities through service opportunities on trails, at events, through advocacy, mentorship and coaching, and more.
3. Training
We provide programs that build skills in others, including bike maintenance, bike fitness, bike skills, and other bicycle related skills.
4. Competition
We provide opportunities for individuals to compete, supported, at various levels and types of bike competitions either organized by the club or outside the club.
5. Fun
We design and implement inclusive activities that help our members build relationships with each other, and have fun riding their bikes in a variety of ways.
